Eli Orgad

72 years old at the time of his death

"A loving father, brother and grandfather."

A son to Eliezer and Batya, and a brother to Nehemia, Gadi and Shaul.
Eli was born in Tiberius and grew up in Kibbutz Kinneret, served in the Armored Corps and fought in the Yom Kippur war.
Eli, was named after his uncle who fell in the War of Independence. He changed his last name to Orgad (Gad’s light) after his brother, Gad, fell while serving as a reservist in 1975. A man of culture, knowledge and endless curiosity. A true intellectual who was a scholar and teacher of the human spirit and Jewish identity.
He was the Kibbutz culture coordinator, always curious and open. He devoted his time to studies, conversations and shows, and to building bridges between secular and religious. On Saturday, October 7, 2023, Eli was murdered by Hamas terrorists in Kibbutz Kfar Aza.
He is survived by his one daughter, two sons, grandchildren and siblings, and his memory will forever stay in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.
