Ofir Shoshani

20 years old at the time of her death
8.2.2003-7.10.2023

"The prettiest girl in kindergarten. She has prettiest eyes in kindergarten."

Ofir was born, raised and educated in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. She was murdered on the Black Saturday on the 7th of October in Kfar Aza when the terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz.
Ofir, our eldest daughter, studied at Shaar HaNegev and excelled in her studies. She was a beautiful, noble, sociable, creative and talented girl surrounded by many friends. Ofir was a free spirit and loved life. She was highly focused, knew what she wanted and worked to achieve it. Ofir was mature, responsible and ethical. She had plans for the future and dreamt of studying design and architecture. Ofir enlisted in the IDF and served as commander of new recruits in the Intelligence Corps' Mifrasit base. In her last position, she served as the head of office for the base's commander. Among the belongings Ofir left behind was a printout describing her role as commander. It mentions the values by which she served, including values of humanity, interpersonal skills, humility, independent thinking and a drive for excellence. Ofir believed and lived by the sentiment - “Why not now?” Our prettiest girl in kindergarten, go now and shine.
