Uri Ruosso
44 years old at the time of his death
22.3.1979-7.10.2023
"What about the good, soft sun? It set, just like it rose."
Born in Kibbutz Kissufim, a member of Kibbutz Kfar Aza, Uri was son to Yosi and Penina Ruosso brother to Sagit, Maayan and Yehonatan. He was a loving father, present and central figure in the lives of his children, Maya, Alona and Yaella, and happily married to Dafna. An anchor for us all.
He left behind a huge hole for us and for everyone who crossed paths with him in the course of his life.
A broad, burly man with a big smile and generous heart, a thoughtful person with endless knowledge, who loves to help and give advice on any matter. A lover of the land, a craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands. A member of the on-call security team, volunteer on the local fire brigade and the informal education committee of the Kibbutz. On that Shabbat morning, he jumped onto his bicycle and charged into battle without hesitation, confronting terrorists and fighting courageously with everything he had in order to protect our home. His gun was found with six missing bullets and around him lay the bodies of six dead terrorists.
