Yahav was a beautiful, smart child, with blue eyes and golden hair. Always smiling, and sometimes whining.
He took his first steps on the trails of the kibbutz he fell in love with, barefoot, alongside his beloved childhood dog, Fry.
Yahav was a protective and loving older brother, and was a central role model for his brother, demonstrating quietness, humor, values, and a love of people and animals.
From a young age he was very connected to music and art, played the guitar and sang, and loved to dress up and perform for his family and for the large video camera that his dad, Ofer, used to document moments of his young child’s life.
After his army service, he studied at Anat Barzilay’s acting school and then at Nissan Nativ acting studio, where he met Shai-Lee, a beautiful and impressive young woman, whose presence charmed him. She fell for his shy smile, and they were married on a hot summer noon in July 2017. Yahav’s acting career advanced and he started landing more and more roles, but he felt another dream he must fulfill: creating movies - directing, writing and standing behind the camera.
He got accepted into one of the best film schools in the country, Minshar, where he flourished and excelled, wrote and directed several short films, including “The Boy”, which was filmed in the Kfar Aza kibbutz and received - and still receives - a lot of recognition overseas.
After Yahav and Shai-Lee graduated, they decided it was time to settle down and return to their roots, to the kibbutz that was strongly embedded in Yahav’s heart.
Yahav and Shai-Lee rented an apartment in the kibbutz, and Yahav started working in the film department at Sapir Colleges. They created and filmed a full-length film together, which Yahav wrote, about their experiences returning to the kibbutz.
After filming ended, just like they hoped and dreamed, they became parents to Shaya - only a month before the terrible tragedy.
On the morning of October 7th, 2023, terrorists broke in through their window. Yahav fought them resourcefully and bravely, allowing Shai-Lee to escape the horrors with Shaya.
Yahav was murdered by evil men. In his death, he saved his family.
